Did you know that the Zygocactus (also known as the Christmas or Decembrist) is a tropical plant? It loves heat and although it is considered unpretentious, this does not mean that fertilization and proper care can be neglected.
Our flower lovers absolutely adore it – especially because it doesn’t require much care and pleases everyone with its flowering right during the New Year holidays. And does the Christmas tree bring you a good mood? Not everyone can boast of its lush flowering. If your zygocactus blooms with only two or three flowers, this can hardly be called real flowering.
A simple way to ensure abundant flowering
The secret is in the imitation of winter ! For two weeks, lower the air temperature around the plant to about +9–10 °C. It is best to do this in September or October. However, if you did not succeed this year – do not worry, there are other methods.
