Nobody could stop eating this! Be careful

Directions

1. Start by layering the sauerkraut on the bottom of your slow cooker – this will serve as a bed for all those tasty ingredients to mingle.
2. Nestle the bratwurst pieces on top of the sauerkraut, ensuring they’re evenly spaced.
3. Scatter the sliced onions, apple, and minced garlic across the bratwurst. It’s the subtle mingling of these flavors that really makes this dish something special.
4. Toss in the quartered potatoes around and between the bratwurst, so every nook and cranny is cozied up.
5. Sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over the top along with the caraway seeds if you’re using them; that hint of sweetness and earthy spice creates a delightful harmony in the dish.
6. Pour the broth over all of the ingredients, giving a light seasoning of salt and pepper.
7. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or until the bratwurst is cooked through and the potatoes are tender to the touch of a fork.
8. Give a gentle stir and taste for seasonings, adjusting if necessary.
Note: if you want the grilled look, you can always broil the sausages afterward.
