See a green dot on your Android phone? Here’s what it means.
What to do if you see a green dot?
According to Samsung, you can quickly find out which app is using your camera or microphone by following four simple steps. When the notification first appears, an icon will display indicating whether the alert is for the camera, microphone, or both. It will then shrink to a dot in the upper right corner, appearing alongside other active indicators.
To learn more, swipe down on the notification bar to open it and tap the dot to expand it. This will open a dialog box that will tell you what’s being used (camera, microphone, or both) and which app is using them. If you agree to the app’s access, you don’t need to take any further action.
However, if you don’t remember granting access to a specific app, open settings and disable these permissions. If a notification shows an app you no longer use, consider removing it from your device for greater peace of mind.
