If you are cooking regular rice, then it is enough to pour one cup of rice and two cups of water. After putting them in the pot, stir the rice with a wooden spoon. This stirring should only be done at the beginning – if you do it later, the rice will start to stick together.
Bring the pot of rice to a boil, then reduce the heat and cover. After fifteen minutes, the rice will be ready to eat. Transfer it to a plate and fluff it with a fork.
